"Any workshop or retreat with Page is an amazing experience. Her river trips and retreats are life-changing, combining much laughter and perhaps a few tears as you plumb your depths to write things you never thought you could. She brings out the best in you, and teaches you not only how-to, but can-do. I highly recommend anything that has Page as teacher." –Phyllis Dugan, past president, Wyoming WritersPlease feel free to contact Page Lambert about any of these events

3-DAY "WRITING ALONG THE RIM" WILDERNESS RETREAT
(In partnership with the Grand Canyon Field Institute)
"Page has an uncanny ability, a remarkable
ability to convey her ideas and experience, to encourage, inspire,
and make her students comfortable. Sharing my writing with her and
our colleagues was easy under her tutelage."
Where? The spectacular South Rim of the Grand Canyon, Arizona.
For centuries Grand Canyon has served as a catalyst for reflection and
creativity in those that have stood along the rim, ventured down the
trails, or floated upon its deliberate river. The artistic mediums may
change, but the challenge remains the same. How to convey one's
impressions of a spectacle that is simultaneously sublime and
stupendous? Some never try, others surrender in frustration, but the
personal rewards are many for those who manage to find a way.
This first-ever writing and journaling workshop facilitated by author
Page Lambert will encourage participants to reflect upon and convey
their experiences both verbally and in writing through a series of fun,
lighthearted, and insightful exercises. Secluded scenic overlooks will
provide the backdrop for this unique event. Light hiking below the rim
may be an option if group desires and abilities permit.
Faculty:
Page Lambert and GCFI field instructor Jack Pennington.
"Jack was fantastic! What a wealth of
knowledge, and a terrific ability to explain things clearly."
Itinerary: Our first evening together, we'll gather for
orientation and a no-host dinner at one of the local restaurants. The
next day, we'll have breakfast on our own, then be escorted in a GCFI
van to Shoshoni Point Overlook for a day of inspiring facilitation and
writing, eating our sack lunches while surrounded by the spectacular
panorama of the Grand Canyon. That evening, we'll re-gather for another
no-host dinner. The morning of our 2nd day together, we'll take the GCFI
van on a beautiful, historic drive down to Cathedral Wash on the
Colorado River, downstream of the famous Lee's Ferry. Once at the
river's edge, we'll embark on a light hike with writing and facilitation
along the way. The return trip from the river, back up to the Rim, will
allow ample time to absorb the splendor and inspiration of the day. The
evening will be unstructured, providing a chance to visit with other
writers, or retreat for creative time alone. Our 3rd day together, we'll
be back at the South Rim, gathering at Kolb Studio for more writing. Our
last evening together, we'll gather for a dinner celebration.
"I can't compliment Page enough. She is
engaging, warm, supportive. We ended up with a great group of
classmates."
