WHAT? Well, the guys can come as far as Lathrop Canyon on Day 1, Tuesday, August 7, then they’ll jet boat back to Moab in the afternoon.
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS: Every year we have a few jealous men who want to come on one of Page’s River Writing Journeys with their wives or girlfriends. And every year we have a few women who want to come, but can’t manage to break free for an entire week. And we always have a few women who’ve done a trip before and want to experience it again. So Page has come up with TWO OPTIONS for this special Anniversary Celebration!
OPTION #1: 5-day Cataract Canyon River Writing Journey & Jet Boat Trip
Join Page for a 5-day Cataract Canyon raft trip on the Colorado River through beautiful Canyonlands National Park, Utah. This special journey includes an exciting jet boat ride from Moab to Lathrop Canyon; a moderate morning hike to Lathrop’s historic ancestral Puebloan granaries and pictographs, then a celebration lunch at the river’s edge. After lunch, embark with Page, the other women river trip guests, and SGE’s fabulous women guides on fully-equipped oar boats to continue this spectacular 5 day/4 night River Writing Journey. (women only beginning with afternoon, Day One)
OPTION #2: 1-day Jet Boat Celebration to Lathrop Canyon
Here’s where that special guy can join you for a day! Or, where you can join the celebration even if you don’t have 5 days to spend on the river. Here’s how it works: Join Page and Sheri for a no-host Celebration Dinner in Moab at 7:00 pm (place TBD). Then, in the morning, meet at SGE to embark for the river, and an exciting jet boat ride down the Colorado to Lathrop Canyon, then take a moderate hike up to the historic ancestral Puebloan granaries and pictographs. After spending a few hours in this special place, you’ll share a celebration lunch at the river’s edge with the entire group before climbing back in the jet boat and heading upriver to Moab. You will arrive back at SGE around 3:00pm. Those who are signed up for the 5-day River Writing Journey will climb in the oar boats and head downriver with the guides. (men and women)

How Do We Spend Our Days?
Enjoy 5 days/ 4 nights on the famous Colorado River through beautiful Cataract Canyon in the heart of Canyonlands National Park. The trip is led by the West’s premier outfitter Sheri Griffith Expeditions out of Moab Utah. All the comforts are included and the Sheri Griffith Expeditions women guides are some of the best in the world: fun, talented, professional and inspiring. Spectacular scenery, a musical writing adventure, and playful whitewater in warm and sunny southern Utah. Isolated from modern civilization, the red cliff walls tower 2000 feet overhead, touching that flawless western blue sky.
Here the famous Colorado River flows freely, undammed and untamed. The majority of the trip is spent floating on calm water, giving us time to explore the natural creative rhythm of writing and for optional, moderate hikes. Free-flowing facilitation occurs throughout the trip as the rafts float between canyon walls, as we stop and hike to scenic lookouts and through secret canyons, and in the evenings and mornings while we relax at camp and enjoy the natural beauty and rhythm of the canyon. As we approach the rapids we'll be eager for some whitewater adventure. Campsites on beautiful beaches along the riverbank are remote so we carry with us all the comforts we'll need for our stay in the natural world. Every camp is pristine with only a few footprints of birds, animals or other travelers who pass this way.
Whether writing in your personal journal or writing for publication, being submerged in the natural world unleashes powerful creative energy. Personal writing time is woven into the moments between floating down the Colorado River, hiking at your leisure, or relaxing on shore. Beginning with breakfast, seminar material is presented at the river's edge and continues throughout the day, ending with readings under the stars. Material includes fiction, creative nonfiction, memoir and poetry. "Women rediscover an important part of themselves in the natural world," Page says. "We move and inspire each other in uniquely feminine ways."
